Delete your BagEvent account
This page explains how to request deletion of your BagEvent account and the data held in it. It applies to the BagEvent apps published by BAGEVENT PTE. LTD. — the mobile app for organizers, their staff, exhibitors, and attendees, and the desktop check-in app for Windows and macOS — and to your account on bagevent.io.
Delete it in the app
Open the Me tab (Account for organizers), tap Delete account at the bottom, and confirm it. The account closes straight away and the 30-day grace period below starts. If something stops the app from deleting the account — for example you are the only owner of an organization that still has live events — the app says what it is and offers to email us instead.
Or ask us by email
- Email [email protected] from the address your BagEvent account is registered to, with the subject Delete my account.
- Tell us the organization name on the account, so we can identify it.
- We reply to confirm the request and tell you the date the grace period ends.
- Your account is closed immediately and moves to read-only. The data stays recoverable for 30 days in case the request was a mistake.
- After the 30-day grace period passes, the data is anonymised and can no longer be recovered.
If you write from an address that is not on the account, we will ask you to verify ownership before acting — this protects your event data from someone else requesting its deletion.
Remove app data from a device right now
You do not need to wait for the account request to clear a device. Signing out of the mobile or desktop app immediately removes, from that device:
- the locally stored attendee roster and event data, and your offline copies of tickets, agenda, and card,
- the notification token, so the device stops receiving push notifications,
- your saved sign-in credentials.
Uninstalling the app removes the same data.
What is deleted
- Your account profile: name, email, and organization details.
- Events you created, together with their settings, registration forms, and badge templates.
- Attendee records for those events, including registration answers and check-in history.
- Marketing email credits and their remaining balance.
What is kept, and for how long
Two categories survive a deletion request, because we are required to keep them:
| Data | Retention | Why | | ---------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Invoices and payment records | Typically 7 to 10 years, per the tax law that applies | Statutory accounting and tax obligations. A deletion request does not remove them. | | Security logs | Append-only record | Fraud and abuse investigation, and the integrity of the audit trail itself. |
These records are kept in a restricted form and are not used for any other purpose.
If you registered for an event rather than running one
If you are an attendee who signed up for someone else's event, that organizer — not BagEvent — controls your registration data. Send your deletion request to the organizer, who can action it directly from your attendee record.
If you cannot tell who the organizer is, email us at [email protected] and we will route the request to them.
How long it takes
We action deletion requests within 30 days of confirming them, as GDPR requires. In practice the account is closed the same day and the grace period is what accounts for the remaining time.
