How much do ticket fees take from your event?
Short answer
Every paid ticket loses the card processor's fee — for example 2.9% + $0.30 per payment on Stripe's standard US pricing — plus any platform fee the ticketing tool charges. On $100,000 of tickets, each 1% of platform fee is $1,000 that never reaches you. BagEvent's platform fee is 0%, so the processing fee is the only deduction.

How the calculator works
- Ticket revenue is price × tickets sold.
- Payment processing is the percentage of revenue plus the fixed fee once per payment. Payments are tickets ÷ tickets per order, rounded up.
- Platform fee is the percentage of revenue plus any fixed amount per ticket. Free tickets pay neither fee.
- You receive is revenue minus both. The difference between the two columns is exactly what the platform fee costs you.

Frequently asked questions
Two kinds. The payment processor's fee — a percentage plus a fixed amount per card payment — goes to Stripe, PayPal or whoever processes the card. A platform fee, if the ticketing platform charges one, is a percentage and sometimes a fixed amount per ticket on top. Refunds and disputes can add their own costs, which this calculator leaves out.
Per payment. An order of three tickets pays the fixed part once, so group bookings cost less in fees per ticket than single-ticket orders. That is why the calculator asks for tickets per order.
No. BagEvent charges 0% platform fee on every plan and is paid by subscription instead — Pro is $129 a month, billed monthly. Ticket revenue settles to your own Stripe or PayPal account, and the only deduction from an order is the payment provider's processing fee.
When ticket sales are small. Divide the monthly subscription by the fee rate: at 5%, a $129 subscription costs the same as the fee on $2,580 of ticket sales in a month. Below that the percentage is cheaper; above it the subscription is.
