DEMO GUIDE

Try BagEvent from every side of an event

SEA Event Tech Summit (demo) is a real event page with real tickets, emails and an attendee hub. Its speakers, sponsors and exhibitors are made up. Start as an attendee, then see the same event from the organizer's side.

As an attendee

Everything your attendees go through, from choosing a ticket to walking in.

  1. Register, five ways

General Admission is free. Delegate and VIP are paid: use DEMO100 to make them free, or EARLY20 for an ordinary 20% off. Payment Test is a real SGD 1 card payment. Media needs the organizer's approval. And Have an access code? with SPONSORPASS unlocks a hidden ticket.

    Choose a ticket →
  2. Read what your attendees would get

The confirmation email with the e-ticket and its QR code, a PDF of the ticket, and a calendar entry. A second email, from us, walks you through what to try next.

  3. Open the attendee hub

Sign in with the email you registered with; a code arrives, no password. Your tickets and orders are there, and so is everything below.

    Open the hub →
  4. Build your schedule

Star sessions in Schedule, then download your own schedule to your calendar.

  5. Join in, live

In Live: answer the poll, ask the speakers a question, and enter Coffee on us, a draw that tells you on the spot whether you won.

  6. Meet people

In Connect, switch on Let others find me, then browse People and ask someone to meet. The other attendees are fictional, so nobody will reply, but every step is the real one.

  7. Check yourself in

Self check-in is on for this event: check in from your own ticket, the way attendees do at a door with no queue.

As a speaker

The call for speakers and the speaker's side of the hub.

  1. Submit a talk

Answer the call for speakers the way a speaker would: a title, an abstract, the format. The demo does not review submissions.

    Submit a talk →
  2. Follow it in the hub

Under Speaking in the attendee hub: your submissions, their status, and the sessions you are on once accepted.

As an organizer

The same event, seen from the console that runs it.

  1. Get your own copy of this event

Start a free trial and choose Try with a sample event. You get this summit in your own account, with its site, tickets, agenda and thirty fictional attendees, ten of them already checked in.

    Start free trial →
  2. Run the door

Check people in with your phone's camera from the console, print badges, and watch arrivals come in.

    Check-in options →
  3. Talk to your attendees

Send an announcement to the hub, email your attendees, and run a survey after the event.

  4. Change the event site

Open the site editor: sections, theme, the phone layout. What you publish is what your attendees see.

  5. Read the numbers

Registrations, revenue and check-ins, by ticket, in the reports and the event dashboard.

On site: check-in

Running the door in your copy of the event — phones, a badge desk, and what to plan before the day.

  1. A device at the door, without an account

In your copy of the event, add a check-in device: staff join with a short code you approve, and you can revoke one device without touching the others.

    Phone check-in →
  2. Keep scanning when the Wi-Fi drops

The attendee list is downloaded to the device before doors open, so scanning and search keep working with no network. Check-ins queue on the device and upload by themselves when the connection returns.

When the venue Wi-Fi fails →
  3. A staffed desk that prints badges

The desktop app for Windows and Mac takes the event offline in one step and prints each badge as the person is checked in. It also prints a VIP list in one pass, registers walk-ins, and runs a self-service kiosk.

    Desktop check-in →
  4. A different badge for each ticket type

Design badge templates and bind each one to the ticket types it is for, so speakers, sponsors and VIPs print differently and nobody chooses a design at the desk.

    Design badges →
  5. Size the desk before the day

How many lanes and staff you need depends on when check-in opens. The calculator works it out from your headcount and gives you a free Excel execution manual.

    Check-in lane calculator →
  6. Brief the people at the door

The onsite manual is written for the team running the desk: setup before the event, then what to do in each situation on the day.
