Buying a ticket

This guide walks you through registering for an event on BagEvent, from choosing a ticket to receiving your confirmation. The exact fields and options are set by the organizer, so your event may show a little more or less than what's described here.

You don't need a BagEvent account to register — everything happens on the event page.

1. Choose your tickets

Open the event page and find the ticket area (often labelled Tickets or reached by a Register button). For each ticket type you'll see its name, price, and sometimes how many are left.

  1. Set the quantity for each ticket type you want using the number box next to it.
  2. If you're buying for other people too, increase the quantity — you'll enter each attendee's details later.

A few things you might notice on a ticket:

  • Free — no payment needed for that ticket.
  • A price and currency — you'll pay for these before your registration is confirmed.
  • "N left" — limited stock remaining.
  • "min N" — that ticket requires a minimum number per order.
  • Sold out — no longer available.
  • Approval required — this ticket needs the organizer to approve your registration (see Events that need approval).

Some events also offer add-ons (extras such as a workshop, a meal, or a T-shirt). Choose any you want the same way — with a quantity, or by selecting an option.

TIP

If you don't see a way to register, the event may not be open yet, or registration may have closed. The button will tell you if registration is closed.

2. Apply a discount code (if you have one)

If the organizer gave you a promo or discount code, look for a "Have a code?" link near the tickets and enter it there. Valid codes are applied right away — you'll see a confirmation and the discount reflected in your total. An invalid or expired code shows an error so you can fix it before continuing.

Some events also use an access code (sometimes called a lock code) to unlock hidden or restricted tickets. If you were given one, enter it in the same area.

When you're happy with your selection, choose Continue.

WARNING

Once you continue, your tickets are held for a limited time while you finish registering. A countdown ("Reserved for…") appears on the next screen. If it runs out, the seats are released and you'll need to pick your tickets again — so have your details ready.

3. Fill in the registration form

Next, provide the attendee information the organizer asks for. Depending on how the event is set up, you'll either fill in:

  • One card per attendee — a separate set of fields for each ticket, so everyone gets their own e-ticket; or
  • A single set of buyer details — when the organizer only collects information from the person registering.

Common fields include name, email, and phone, plus any custom questions the organizer added (company, dietary needs, a dropdown, a checkbox, a file upload, and so on). Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

Helpful details:

  • Copy from attendee 1 — when registering several people, tick this to reuse the first attendee's answers, then adjust.
  • Purchaser information — you can confirm who the order (and receipt) belongs to. Leave "same as attendee 1" ticked, or untick it to enter a different name and email for the buyer.
  • Email verification — if the organizer requires it, choose Send code, then enter the 6-digit code emailed to that address to verify it before you submit.
  • Privacy policy — if shown, read and agree to the organizer's privacy terms to continue.

TIP

Use an email address you check regularly — your confirmation and e-ticket are sent there, and it's the address you'll use later to open the personal center and manage your tickets.

When the form is complete, submit it. For a free registration this confirms your spot right away. For a paid ticket, you'll move on to payment.

4. Pay (for paid tickets)

On the payment step you'll see your order summary and the payment methods the organizer has enabled, which may include:

  • Credit or debit card (via Stripe)
  • PayPal — you'll be sent to PayPal to approve the payment, then returned
  • PayNow (SGD)

Choose a method and follow the prompts. Card and PayNow payments are completed securely on the page; PayPal opens PayPal to approve. Your payment goes to the organizer through their payment provider.

Today most events accept card payments; PayPal and PayNow are rolling out. You'll only ever see the methods a given event actually offers.

WARNING

If no payment methods appear, or you see a message that online payment isn't available, the organizer hasn't finished setting up payments. Try again later or contact the organizer — your card is never charged in that case.

If you cancel or your payment doesn't go through, your order is kept as pending and you can return to it to try again. You won't have a usable e-ticket (and no check-in QR code is generated) until payment is received.

5. Your confirmation

Once you're done, a confirmation screen shows your order number, event details, and what you registered for. From here you can usually:

  • View your e-tickets and see the check-in QR code,
  • Download your ticket as a PDF,
  • Add the event to your calendar, and
  • open the personal center to manage your tickets later.

BagEvent also emails a confirmation with your e-ticket to the address you registered with.

TIP

Don't see the email within a few minutes? Check your spam or junk folder. You can also open your e-ticket any time from the personal center — see Your e-ticket.

Events that need approval

Some events review registrations before confirming them. If your ticket shows "Approval required", your registration is submitted as pending approval after you finish the form. You'll see a pending message instead of an immediate confirmation, and your check-in QR code is only issued once the organizer approves you (and, for paid tickets, once payment is received). The organizer decides how and when they review — reach out to them through the event page if you're unsure.
