Two-step verification
Two-step verification is optional and belongs to your own account, not to an organization. Once it's on, signing in with your password, an emailed code or Google also asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone.
The mobile app doesn't support it yet
The BagEvent mobile app can't ask for the second step yet. If you turn two-step verification on, you can't sign in to the mobile app with this account until an app update adds it. If you rely on the app, leave it off for now.
Turn it on
- Open Account under Settings and choose the Two-step verification tab.
- Select Set up two-step verification.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app — any app that shows 6-digit codes — or type in the key shown under it.
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows, and Your password. If your account has no password, choose Email me a code and enter that code instead.
- Select Turn on two-step verification.
- Save your recovery codes. You get 10, shown this once. Copy or Download them, tick I have saved these codes and select Done.
Signing in
After your usual sign-in, enter the Authentication code from the app and select Verify and continue. You have five minutes.
No phone to hand? Choose Lost your phone? Use a recovery code. Each recovery code works once. After 10 wrong codes, the second step is locked for 15 minutes.
New recovery codes, or turning it off
The tab shows how many of your 10 recovery codes are left.
- New recovery codes creates a fresh set; the old codes stop working straight away.
- Turn off removes the second step.
Both ask for an Authenticator code or recovery code and your password (or an emailed code), and BagEvent emails you each time.
If you've lost both your phone and your recovery codes, contact support.
