Refunds & cancellations

Can't make it to an event? Here's how refunds work on BagEvent and how to ask for one.

WARNING

Refunds are controlled by the event organizer, not by BagEvent. Whether your ticket can be refunded — and how much — depends entirely on the organizer's policy for that event. A refund is never guaranteed.

Who decides if you're eligible

Each organizer sets their own refund and cancellation policy: some allow refunds up to a cutoff date, some offer partial refunds, and some don't offer refunds at all. Look for a refund policy on the event page, or ask the organizer directly if it isn't stated.

Requesting a refund

If the organizer has enabled refund requests, you can send one from the event's personal center:

  1. Open the personal center for the event and sign in with your registered email and the one-time code (see Opening the personal center).
  2. Find the ticket and choose Request refund.
  3. Optionally add a short reason to help the organizer.
  4. Choose Send request.

Your request goes to the organizer, who reviews it against their policy and decides whether to approve it. You'll be notified when they follow up.

TIP

Don't see a Request refund option? The organizer hasn't enabled self-service refund requests for that event. Contact them directly through the event page to ask about a refund or cancellation.

Timing and how the money comes back

When an organizer approves a refund, it's returned to your original payment method through the payment provider that processed your payment (such as Stripe, PayPal, or PayNow). How long it takes to appear on your statement depends on that provider and your bank — typically a few business days, sometimes longer.

Because the organizer received the payment and issues the refund, they're the best source for the status of a specific refund. If it's been a while and you haven't seen it, follow up with the organizer.

If you just can't attend

Even when a refund isn't available, you have options:

  • Transfer your ticket to someone who can go, if the organizer allows it — see Transferring a ticket.
  • Contact the organizer to ask about alternatives, such as attending a future date.
