Account & security
Your BagEvent account is you, not your organization: one sign-in can belong to several organizations, each with its own events, team and plan. Open Account under Settings in the left navigation of the organizer app. It has four tabs: Profile, Password, Two-step verification and Organizers.
Profile
Change your Display name — it's what your team sees — and select Save profile.
Your Email is your login and can't be changed here. If you need to change the email you sign in with, contact support.
Change your password
- Open the Password tab.
- Enter your Current password, then a New password (at least 8 characters, and different from the current one) and Confirm new password.
- Select Update password.
Changing your password signs you out on every other device. This browser stays signed in; everywhere else you'll need to sign in again with the new password. If you think someone else has used your account, changing the password is the way to shut them out.
If you signed up with Google and never set a password, use Forgot password? on the sign-in page to set one first.
How you can sign in
On the BagEvent sign-in page you can use:
- Email and password. Keep me logged in for 30 days is ticked by default — untick it on a shared computer.
- An email code — choose Sign in with an email code instead, then Send code. A 6-digit code is emailed to you and expires after 10 minutes.
- Continue with Google.
- A QR code — scan it with the BagEvent app to sign in on the computer.
Forgot password? emails you a reset link that can be used once. Resetting your password also ends your sessions on other devices, and you then sign in with the new password.
BagEvent doesn't offer single sign-on (SSO/SAML) today.
Two-step verification
For extra protection, add a second step under the Two-step verification tab: after your password, emailed code or Google sign-in, you enter a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone, or one of 10 one-time recovery codes. It's optional, and turning it on, turning it off or creating new recovery codes asks for your password (or an emailed code) again.
The mobile app can't ask for the second step yet, so an account with two-step verification on can't sign in to the app until an app update adds it. See Two-step verification for the steps.
Sign out
Sign out (at the bottom of the Account page, and at the foot of the left navigation) ends the session in this browser only. Other browsers and phones where you're signed in stay signed in — to sign out everywhere, change your password.
Create another organizer
An organizer is an organization that owns events. Create a separate one when events need their own Stripe account, their own plan or their own team — for example, for a second business.
- Open the Organizers tab.
- Under Create organizer, enter an Organizer name and select Create organizer.
You become its owner, it gets its own 14-day free trial, and it becomes your default. Your organizers lists every organization you belong to, with your role. Set as default chooses the organizer that Members, Plan & billing and the resource libraries work with; the organization name at the top of the console switches between them. Edit (owners and admins) changes an organizer's slug and public profile. See Plans, trial & billing.
Close your account
Closing your account happens in your BagEvent account area rather than the organizer console: on the page that lists your events, choose Account, then Close my account, and confirm with your password.
Your personal data is deleted after 30 days. Until then you can sign in and choose Keep my account to cancel, and the organizer app shows a banner with the scheduled date. Some records — such as invoices, security logs, and order amounts and ticket counts — are kept; What we keep and why on that page explains which and why.
You can't close your account while you're the only owner of an organization with live events. Transfer ownership to another member, or close those events first.
Never share a sign-in code
No one from BagEvent or an event organizer will ask you for your password or a sign-in code.
