Quick start

This guide takes you from a new account to a live event page collecting registrations. It should take about ten minutes.

Before you start: you need a BagEvent account and an organization. If you were invited to an existing organization, use the link in your invitation email instead of creating a new one.

1. Create your event

From your organizer dashboard, choose Create event and fill in the basics:

  • Title — what attendees will see.
  • Date & time — start and end. The end can't be before the start.
  • Time zone — the event's local time zone; all times display in it.
  • Language — the language your event page and emails are shown in. You can add more languages later (see Multi-language events).

Save to create the event as a draft. Nothing is public yet.

2. Add tickets

Open Tickets and add at least one ticket type:

  • Free — for registration-only events.
  • Paid — set the price and currency. To take payment you'll need to connect a payment provider.

Set the quantity available for each type. You can add more types (e.g. Early Bird, VIP) at any time.

3. Build your registration form

Under Registration form, choose what to collect from each attendee — name and email are included by default. Add fields for anything else you need (company, dietary needs, a custom question).

See Registration forms for field types and per-attendee vs. per-order collection.

4. (Optional) Set up payments

If any ticket is paid, connect a provider so you can get paid:

  1. Go to Payments.
  2. Connect Stripe. (PayPal and PayNow are coming soon.)
  3. Confirm your currency is supported for payout.

Full details: Connecting a payment provider.

5. Publish

When you're ready, hit Publish. Publishing requires:

  • at least one active ticket type, and
  • a registration form with at least one field.

Your event page is now live at its public URL. Share the link, or embed the ticket widget on your own site.

6. Watch registrations come in

As people register, track them under Attendees and Orders. From there you can:
