Automatic reminder and change notices

BagEvent emails ticket holders about the event itself without you sending anything. Both emails go to everyone holding a valid ticket and to the person who bought it, and neither uses email credits.

The event reminder

  • When. Once, between 24 hours and 1 hour before the event starts. BagEvent checks every ten minutes, so it normally goes out about a day ahead. An event published less than an hour before it starts gets no reminder.
  • What's in it. The time, the venue, add-to-calendar links, a link to the e-ticket and, for an online event, the private join link.
  • Who gets it. The people holding a ticket at that moment. Someone who registers after it has gone out doesn't get one.
  • Published events only.

It's on by default. To turn it off, open Basics, scroll to Attendee emails, untick Send a reminder in the day before the event starts and select Save changes.

If you move the event after the reminder went out, so that it now starts more than 24 hours away, the reminder is sent once more before the new start.

Change notices

When you save a published event under Basics and the save changes one of these, ticket holders are emailed what changed:

  • the start or end time,
  • the venue,
  • the private join link — a new or different link; removing it sends nothing.

As soon as you change one of them, a checkbox appears under Date and location: Email ticket holders about this change when I save. It's ticked by default. Untick it for a correction that isn't worth an email.

Changes to a draft never email anyone, and neither do other edits such as the description or poster. For those, send a broadcast.
